Laser Resurfacing:
for Facial Wrinkles and Acne ScarsServing Longmont, Lafayette and the Northern Colorado region
We were all born with smooth, baby-soft skin. As we go through life, our skin is subject to numerous experiences that leave it less than perfect. Although abrasion and chemical peels have offered some hope for patients in the past, risks of scarring, pigmentation problems, discomfort, long recovery periods and lack of sufficient cosmetic results have kept people away from having the beautiful skin they want.
You can experience the proven alternative to traditional cosmetic treatments with CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing. This process gently removes skin imperfections and dramatically reduces lines and wrinkles while using the most advanced technology available - while providing safe and effective treatment of the skin. Sun-damaged and aging skin can be removed, layer-by-layer, helping protect and stimulate the regeneration of deeper, healthier skin.
Many facial conditions such as fine wrinkling around the eyelids, forehead and mouth can be made smoother with this simple process. Deep laugh and frown lines can be minimized. Even the lingering effects of chicken pox or acne scars can be successfully treated.
Dr. Joel Meyers is one of Colorado's most experienced cosmetic laser surgeons and one of the first physicians in the country to utilize the UltraPulse 5000c with the Computerized Pattern Generator for laser resurfacing.
UltraPulse is the gold standard of laser technology for laser resurfacing providing precision, evenness of treatment and reproducibility, which are far superior to other laser technologies. At the Meyers Aesthetic Center, Dr. Meyers is dedicated to utilizing extremely meticulous techniques and only the most state of the art lasers for all of your aesthetic needs including the VascuLight™ Plus SR Intense Pulsed Light Photorejuvenation System. Dr. Meyers has experience you can trust, performing laser skin resurfacing since 1987.
The laser skin resurfacing process usually requires two to six weeks for full recovery. In some cases, redness may persist longer. Makeup can usually be applied around 14 days, depending on your skin's response to the treatment. We utilize products and the FotoFacialT treatments to hasten the healing process. As with all medical procedures there are risks associated with laser skin resurfacing. As one of the first physicians in the country to perform laser resurfacing in 1995, Dr. Meyers has vast experience, which can help minimize these risks.
Unlike dermabrasion and chemical peels, UltraPulse Laser Resurfacing uses a very high-energy beam of light to vaporize, or "paint away" scars, lines and wrinkles, and other skin defects. The laser light penetrates to a very precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and predictable while reducing the risk of scarring or pigmentation problems.
Post procedure discomfort is usually minor, requiring little or no medication, helping you return more quickly to your normal routine. Best of all, the procedure is performed right in Dr. Meyers' office.
In order to provide maximum benefits and more rapid recovery, Dr. Myers includes two FotoFacial™ treatments for his CO2 laser resurfacing patients.
