Joel S. Meyers, MD
Oculoplastic Surgeon and Director of Aesthetic Laser & Plastic Surgery
Dr. Joel S. Meyers is a specialist in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Eye and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and his fellowship training in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Eye Plastic Surgery was performed in one of the very few programs approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. This specialized fellowship includes the medical and surgical treatment of the eyelids, tear drainage system, and orbit, as well as cosmetic facial surgery, including eyelids, eyebrows, face lifts, neck lifts, liposculpturing and tumescent liposuction. Dr. Meyers was awarded his fellowship to study ophthalmic plastic surgery at the University of Arizona. In addition, Dr. Meyers taught for two years on the full-time faculty at the University of Arizona Medical School.
Dr. Meyers attended college at the University of Colorado, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society before graduating "With Distinction" and Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical education at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and subsequently performed his medical internship in New York at Nassau County Medical Center. Dr. Meyers stayed in New York to receive his ophthalmology residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he held the position of Chief Resident.
