Longmont, Colorado OphthalmologistDr. Irene Olijnyk has been in practice in Colorado at the Eye Care Center since 1981. She is Board Certified and enjoys her practice in general eye care. This would include general and routine eye exams for children, adults and seniors. Her expertise includes cataract surgery with implants with small incision and one-stitch or no-stitch techniques. This assures a more rapid and comfortable recovery. Surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at the Longmont Surgery Center or the Longmont Hospital only blocks away from the office.

Dr. Olijnyk especially enjoys working with and helping children. Lazy eye, nearsightedness, astigmatism, pink eye, injuries, contact lens and glasses needs are all areas of interest to her. The treatment of glaucoma is a common area that Dr. Olijnyk deals with. She is familiar with all of the recent advances and medications for the treatment of glaucoma. Laser treatment of glaucoma as well as visual field testing are available in the office as needed.

Lafayette, Colorado OpthalmologyDr. Olijnyk also does complete eye exams for patients with diabetes. When necessary, Dr. Olijnyk refers her diabetic patients to Dr. Benedict, a retinal specialist, who also practices at the Eye Care Center, who can perform laser treatments right in the office.

Whether an eye problem is simple or complex, Dr. Olijnyk enjoys her patients and is able to directly help them or refer them to a specialist if necessary.
